As an important part of the 2nd China Ningbo International Port Cultural Festival, the International Port and Urban Development Forum for 2010 was held on July 30. Some 1000 people including foreign ambassadors to China, representatives of the world’s famous shipping companies, famous economists, experts of urban management and scholars attended the forum.

The theme of the forum is "harmonious sharing of the epoch of the ocean". It aims to strengthen international cooperation of port cities, develop the common values and norms for the development of ports and port cities. With the aim of promoting the coordinated development of ports and cities, such topics as the tendency of the development of modern ports and development strategies were discussed. Fan Gang, famous economist, Fu Peirong, famous scholar from Taiwan, and Li Jinkui, professor from Tsinghua University, made speeches on specific topics.

At the forum, Song Wei, Member of Ningbo Municipal Committee of the CPC, and Director of Propaganda Department of Ningbo Municipal Committee of the CPC, said, at present and in the time to come, the sea will be of great significance for the development of the countries in the world.
